RECIPE FOR RESILIENCE

Are you looking for inspiration, clarity and intention in 2019?

In the Recipe for Resilience (RR) workshop, we review and discuss the science of resilience and what contributes to individuals, groups and communities thriving. Gain insight about the challenges that you are currently facing and how to turn these into opportunities for growth. Use restorative practices and specific questions for self-reflection to integrate your life lessons. Create a mixed-media collage for inspiration, clarity and intention moving forward.

The Recipe for Resilience includes three essential ingredients:

  • Understand. Review and discuss the science of resilience, how this relates to your life and how you can adopt a Resilience Mindset.

  • Reflect. Engage in personal reflection to capture the key experiences that offer you opportunities for growth.

  • Trust. Listen deeply through guided visualization as you cultivate intuition as your guide.

A uniquely healing way to cultivate:

  • Inner wisdom and personal insight about what resilience looks like for you right now

  • A balance between your need for silence and your longing for healthy group discussion

  • Appreciation for your successes and awareness of the challenges you face

  • Commitment to new habits to foster resilience

Prepare to Pivot

Are you sensing a call to make a career change, start a new venture, or actualize a visionary project? Harness your energy to align with your purpose so you can execute your pivot with grace, poise and intention.

We can help you prepare to pivot through:

  • Self-discovery. Understand the central point upon which you pivot. Clarify your vision of the work that you want to do, the impact or contribution that you want to make, your sense of personal purpose, your values and where you are in relation to the full arc of your life trajectory. This phase will rely on proven tools and methods for self-discovery.

  • Visioning. Consider the landscape that you want to step into. What opportunities and alliances are necessary to move you forward? Deeper dives into the roles and organizations relevant for you will shed light on possibilities as you bring your unique strengths and skills to the marketplace. Proven methods include structured research, guidelines for effective networking, and informational interviewing.

  • Action. Devise a plan, initiate action and build momentum. Review strategies for maintaining your stamina until you actualize your life goal. Deliverables include: a compelling resume and cover letter, a timeline for execution with realistic and attainable tasks, an intention statement, and interviewing skills. Options to create a website, marketing materials and timeline for projects are included in this final phase. You will walk away with the necessary skills and new tools to pivot.

A unique opportunity to:

  • Uncover the intuition and knowledge that you need to chart your course

  • Participate in a small group experience for up to 8 participants

  • Achieve your goal by becoming an active participant in your future

  • Co-create the circle of support for yourself and others

  • Celebrate your success and the determination of others

Each two-hour session will include an opening circle to set our intentions, presentation of the theme for the session, questions for self-reflection, guided meditation, and closing circle to verbalize insights and commitments and discuss homework.

This full course will run on Sunday afternoon 3-5 pm. Feb 3, 10, March 3, 10, 17, 24, 31 and April 28th. The breaks between sessions are intended to provide you time to follow-through with action steps to maximize your progress.

Sessions will take place at OmTown Yoga on 35th Ave NE in Ravenna-Bryant.

Christina's bio:

I am deeply passionate about helping people bring their unique talents to the world.  As a career counselor and instructor at Seattle Pacific University’s Center for Career and Calling, I helped students and alumni find meaningful careers. Prior to that engagement, I spent several years on the other side of the employment world as a recruiter at Amazon, Vulcan, and local technology startups. I understand the critical need for both interpersonal work and practical tools when it comes to preparing to pivot.

Luci's bio:

I love working with individuals to bring their careers into greater alignment with their intuition. As a clinical psychologist and leadership consultant, I have been helping individuals and facilitating healthy groups for the past 20 years. I am very excited to partner with Christina and add her expertise as a career counselor. Our curriculum contains all the elements of support that you will need to take a challenging process and make it more effective, meaningful and fun!

Testimonial from a participant:

Christina and Luci are an amazing team. Their assignments, expertise and group leadership skills are ideally suited for this project. At the end of the session, they had successfully guided each of us to a point where we could knowledgeably take bold steps towards a fresh career that suited our personalities and life needs. The group dynamic was key. We all supported and learned from each other.
